Alabama Birth Certificates and Death Records are available
from 1908 to present by the Alabama Center for Health
Statistics. Search fee is $12.00 nonrefundable and includes
either a copy of the birth certificate or a "Certificate of
Failure to Find". Birth certificates become public records
125 years after the date of issue while death records only
require 25 years. Certificate amendment fees are $15.00.
Those able to receive a certified copy are limited to: self,
legal guardian, spouse, son or daughter, sister or brother,
legal authorized representative.
In addition to the list above, grandchildren are able to
claim a certified copy of the death certificate.
Search fees for marriage and divorce certificates are $12
The Alabama Center for Health Statistics starting filing
marriage certificates in 1936. Although earlier records do
exist and are housed at the county probate office where the
marriage license was originally issued. All searches will
result in either a certified copy or a "Certificate of
Failure to Find".
Vital Records holds divorce records from 1950 to present.
Older records must be obtained from the county circuit court
where the divorce decree was filed.
Unclaimed property of less than $25 dollars in value is not

Baldwin County Marriage License
The fee for a Marriage License is $40.00. If you are married
in our office, the fee for the marriage license and ceremony
is $55.00. The only acceptable form of payment is cash. If
you need a certified copy of a marriage license that was
issued in Baldwin County, we need to know the month, day and
year of the marriage, and names of the bride and groom. Send
this information and $3.00 to the Probate Office, Marriage
License Section at PO Box 459, Bay Minette, Al 36507.
